Leadership: Elie Maalouf (Party leader)

Founder: Danny Abdul Khalek

Founded: 2006

“The New Lebanese” is a secular Lebanese party that was founded in 2006.This party is represented by a group of Lebanese youth who believe in terminating the role of traditional political leaderships that have monopolized governance by the power of political Familism. The party aims at paving the way for professional Lebanese young people to take part in politics.

“ The New Lebanese party” calls for peaceful coexistence and communication among all Lebanese sects to be able to synthesize a national and secular regime away from sectarian politics.

Being a secular and national party, Patrimonialism is not accepted because of its opposition to democracy. The New Lebanese party considers the parties that took part in the civil war are the main cause of Lebanon’s economic and political collapse and downfall. Moreover, the party believes that the Lebanese who have blindly followed those parties since the end of the civil war have played a detrimental role in maintaining their political existence. Let alone the disastrous impact of sectarianism on the political system that has become the most suitable ambiance for those parties to flourish.

The ” New Lebanese” adopts a slogan they are proud of:

” There is no blood in our historical record, and we have no enemies at Homeland”.

17 October Revolution
