Life and career[]
Wheeler grew up in Ludlow and was educated at the Dragon School in Oxford, Eton College, and the University of Bristol, where he studied geography. His first job was as a management consultant for Bain & Company.[citation needed]
In November 1986, he set up Charles Tyrwhitt, a shirt brand in the United Kingdom.[2] It grew to be the UK’s largest mail order shirt business, and it also has several brick and mortar locations.[3]
In 2008, he was a regional judge for the Entrepreneur Challenge in the UK.[4]
Wheeler is married to Chrissie Rucker, founder of The White Company. They have four children: Tom, Ella, India and Bea.[5] His sister, Susie Cummings, is founder and CEO of Nurole, the online head-hunting platform.
In 2020, Wheeler and his wife's collective wealth was estimated at £427 million by the Sunday Times Rich List.[6] They live in Buckinghamshire and also own a chalet in Klosters, Switzerland.[7]
