Nicole Yeargin

Nicole Yeargin (born 11 August 1997 in Maryland[1]) is a Scottish-American athlete.

Yeargin is studying real estate development at the University of Southern California and has recorded bests in 2019 of 23.26 for 200 metres and 52.76 for 400 metres. With an upbringing in Maryland but with a mother who hails from Dunfermline, Yeargin was cleared to represent Scotland in May 2020.[2] Yeargin stated that her favourite thing about Scotland was the sausage rolls.[3]

In May 2021 Yeargin clocked a big PB for 400m as she recorded 51.39 to put her into second place in the British rankings for the season, and she made it a double in terms of Commonwealth Games qualifying times with a 23.18 run in the 200m which takes her to fifth on the Scottish all-time lists.[4]

In June 2021 Yeargin nailed down an Olympic qualifying standard in the Women’s 400m with a new PB of 50.96 to reach the NCAA final, and secured a place in the British team for the delayed 2020 Olympic Games in the British Olympic Trials.[5][6][7]
