Production[]

On March 9, 2018, Netflix announced it had ordered a ten-episode first season of a show hosted by Norm Macdonald and accompanied by sidekick Adam Eget. Macdonald and Lori Jo Hoekstra were its showrunners, and executive producers alongside K.P. Anderson and Daniel Kellison. Macdonald's production company Anchor Spud Productions produced in association with Pygmy Wolf Productions and Lionsgate Television.[1][2][3][4] David Letterman is credited as "Special Counsel" (originally billed himself as "location scout" in the press announcement) was a creative partner and helped sell the show to Netflix.[5][6] It premiered on September 14, 2018.[7][8]

The cast close each episode by singing the song Wayne and Shuster closed with on the CBC in the 1970s.[9]
