Octav Chelaru (born 30 September 1991) is a Romanian film director and screenwriter. He wrote and directed the short films Black Clothes (2017)[1] and The Parallel State (2020)[2] which both premiered in Pardi di Domani at Locarno Festival. His feature film directorial debut[3][4][5][6] called A Higher Law (2021)[7] and starring Mălina Manovici and Alexandru Papadopol, had the World premiere at the 62nd edition of the Thessaloniki International Film Festival and the Asian premiere at the 52nd International Film Festival of India.[8]
