In 1984, the company expanded to the United Kingdom with a semi-submersible rig for Hamilton Brothers Oil & Gas. In 1989 the company opened an office in Singapore. In 1995, the company decided to concentrate on the North Sea.[4]

In 2013, the company became a public company via an initial public offering on the Oslo Stock Exchange.[5]

In 2017, the company sold its 37% interest in Robotic Drilling Systems, which it acquired in 2014.[6][7]
