Location of the Borough of Ogwr within Wales
Ogwr Borough Council was a district local authority for the Borough of Ogwr, in the Bridgend area of Mid Glamorgan, Wales. The council was a second-tier local authority to Mid Glamorgan County Council. Ogwr Borough Council was created in 1974 and dissolved in 1996.
At the initial 1973 elections the council comprised 57 councillors elected from 25 wards. At the final all-council election in 1991, 49 councillors were elected from 29 electoral wards.[1]
Ogwr Borough Council was largely replaced on 1 April 1996 by Bridgend County Borough Council.
