Oleksandr Serhiyovych Kornienko (Ukrainian: Олександр Сергійович Корнієнко; born 12 May 1984[2]) is a Ukrainian politician, business coach, development consultant[3] and First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada (since October 2021).[4] He is one of the leading members of Servant of the People political party.[5] Kornienko was elected to the Verkhovna Rada in 2019.[6]

Biography[]

Kornienko received his education at the Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute (2001-2007) and studied at the Wiesbaden Academy for Psychotherapy (Germany, 2008-2010).[7][3]

Kornienko worked as a journalist from 2001 until 2006.[3] Between 2005 and 2008 and again from 2011 to 2013 he was the concert director and manager of the Ukrainian rock band Krykhitka.[3] Since 2005 Kornienko worked in youth orientated NGO's.[3] Kornienko is one of the founders and leaders of the Initiative Youth Union organization.[3] From 2010 to 2019 he worked as a business coach and development consultant.[3]

In 2006 Kornienko started a career as political counsellor during election campaigns with various forces and candidates.[3] During the 2015 Ukrainian local elections he worked at the headquarters mayoral candidate of Mykolaiv for the party Self Reliance.[3] Senkevych was elected Mayor.[8] Kornienko served as the national coordinator for Volodymyr Zelenskiy's 2019 presidential campaign and reprised this role for the party Servant of the People in the 2019 Ukrainian parliamentary election.[9] Kornienko was elected to the Verkhovna Rada (Ukraine's national parliament) in the 2019 Ukrainian parliamentary election as number 7 on the candidate list of Servant of the People.[6][3] On 10 November 2019 Kornienko was elected head of this party.[1]

On 19 October 2021 Kornienko was elected First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada.[10]

Member of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on State Power, Local Self-Government, Regional Development and Urban Planning.
