Olga Korhonen Lakela

Olga Korhonen Lakela (1890–1980) was a Finnish-American botanist and educator noted for identifying many species in the genera Heuchera and Tiarella.[1][2] She emigrated to the United States from Finland in 1906.[1] Lakela founded the herbarium at the University of Minnesota Duluth, which is named after her.[3][4] After her retirement from the University of Minnesota Duluth in 1958,[1] she was the curator of the University of South Florida's herbarium from 1960 until her retirement there in 1973.[5]
