On Such a Full Sea is a dystopian fiction novel by Chang-rae Lee, published on January 7, 2014 by Riverhead Books. The story focuses on the journey of the young fish tank diver, Fan, as she pursues her missing boyfriend.

It was part of the shortlist for the 2015 Andrew Carnegie Medal for Excellence Fiction.[1] [2]

Reception[]

On Such a Full Sea received starred reviews from Library Journal,[3] Booklist,[4] Publishers Weekly,[5] and Kirkus Reviews,[6] as well as positive reviews from The New York Times Book Review[7] and Shelf Awareness.[8]

Kirkus called the book "Welcome and surprising proof that there’s plenty of life in end-of-the-world storytelling."[6]

The audiobook, narrated by BD Wong, received positive reviews from Booklist[9] and Library Journal.[3]
