Productions[]
In September 2011, Opera Las Vegas produced Puccini's Tosca with Gregory Buchalter (a cover conductor for the Metropolitan Opera), conducting the 35-member orchestra, and three Metropolitan Opera singers[citation needed], soprano Elizabeth Blancke-Biggs as Tosca; tenor Raúl Melo as Cavaradossi; and baritone Daniel Sutin as Scarpia.[3]
In 2012, Opera Las Vegas produced Don Giovanni. Metropolitan Opera[citation needed] baritone Jeff Mattsey sang the title role, joined by four other Met singers: bass Philip Horst as Leporello; sopranos Luana DeVol as Donna Elvira and Amy Shoremount-Obra as Donna Anna; and tenor Mark Thomsen as Don Ottavio with Gregory Buchalter conducting.[4]
OLV's performance venue for the 2014 season was The Artemus W. Ham Concert Hall on the campus of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
