Operation: Get Down is the second studio album by rapper Craig Mack, released in June 1997, three years after his successful debut album Project: Funk Da World. After his split from Bad Boy Records, Mack's popularity quickly went downhill; Operation: Get Down failed to reach Gold status by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), and also failed to produce a hit single. A few years following the release, Craig disappeared from the hip hop industry for almost a decade, with the exception of a few guest spots and soundtrack appearances until his death from heart failure on March 12, 2018.

Wade Kergen of AllMusic commented on the late release of the album: "If Operation: Get Down had appeared sooner, it's possible that "Drugs, Guns and Thugs" could have broken out as a single and Mack would never have had to write "Jockin' My Style"—a song attacking all the MCs who had taken on his style during the long absence."[1]
