Oscar Tietz

Oscar Tietz (18 April 1858 – 17 January 1923) was a Jewish-German businessman (Unternehmer).

Biography[]

Oscar Tietz was born in Birnbaum/Warthe, Posen on 18 April 1858. A nephew of Hermann Tietz, he joined his uncle's department store concern in Berlin.[1] The two became founders of the Hertie, KaDeWe.

Oscar Tietz died in Klosters, Switzerland in January 1923 at age 64.[2]
