Otto Geyer

Karl Ludwig Otto Geyer (8 January 1843, Charlottenburg, Berlin - March 1914, Charlottenburg) was a German sculptor. He was brother of the architect .

Life[]

From 1859 to 1864 he studied at the Königlichen Akademie der Künste

Works[]

Statue "Industry" in situ in Strasbourg's railway station. The statue (without pedestal) is approximately 7 ft high.

Some of Geyer's work can be seen in the Gare de Strasbourg, main hall of which includes two large statues of female allegorical figures, which represent Industry and Agriculture. Geyer also produced the reliefs on the historical facade, which carry his signature.
