P. N. Ramchandar Rao (పీ.ఎన్.రామచంద్ర రావు) is an Indian film director, producer and screenwriter who has worked on Telugu, Kannada and Tamil films.[1][2][3]

Though born in Chadalavada village, PNR's lived in childhood Parlapalli Village, Nellore dist. till he moved to Chennai to join in films,

In 1973, The South Indian Film Chamber of Commerce's Film Institute at Chennai posted an advertisement for admissions to acting course and PNR was just 18, went to Chennai for admission in the same. But soon he realised that the minimum entry age is 21, dejected PNR sat in film chamber crying alone. Doondi senior film producer, spoke to him and advised him to meet P. Chandrashekar Reddy, a well-known Film director since he also hails from Nellore as PNR.

Taking Doondi 's advice PNR approached P. Chandrashekar Reddy and joined him as an assistant director for the film Kottha Kapuram starring Krishna S.V. Ranga Rao, Bharathi Gummadi and others.

Career[]

P. N. Ramachandra Rao debuted as director with a Telugu movie Sandhyaragam (సంధ్యారాగం) in 1980 produced by actor Giribabu. Another movie titled 1983 () with Giribabu - P. N. Ramachandra Rao as producer - director combination proved to be trendsetter.

In 1987 P. N. Ramachandra Rao became producer, with his friends as partners, and produced Gandhinagar Rendava Veedhi in his direction and other major hits like Chitram Bhalare Vichitram (1991), which ran in theatres for over 200 days in Andhra Pradesh.,[4] followed. He produced total 12 films till now.
