Palmolive is an American multinational brand of a line of products produced by parent company, Colgate-Palmolive. The name originated in 1898.

Products include dishwashing liquid as well as personal care products such as shampoo, hair conditioner, body wash, soap and liquid hand-wash.

Argentine commercial for Palmolive hair oil from 1955, featuring actress Isabel Sarli in her time as an advertising model.

History[]

The B.J. Johnson Soap Company was established in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1864. In 1898, the company introduced Palmolive soap[1] a formula created by the company that included palm and olive oil.[2]

In 1928, Colgate merged with the Palmolive-Peet Company.[3] In 1953, the companies became a joint venture, known as the Colgate-Palmolive Company.[4]
