The Palos Township Republican Organization is the township-level affiliate of the Republican Party in Cook County. Since January, 2012, it has been chaired by Committeeman Sean M. Morrison. The Republican Party is one of two legally established, statewide political parties in Illinois.

Creation of Organization[]

The Palos Township Republican Organization was organized by action of the Illinois State Legislature and has specific powers and duties as dictated by law. The creation of Township Party Organizations was established by the Illinois Election Code, 10 ILCS 5/ Article 7 [1]

Recent Events[]

In the past 5 election cycles, voters in voters in Palos Township have voted for a majority of the Republican candidates that appeared on the ballot where there were contested races.[2]

In the , Republican nominee Donald Trump defeated Hillary Clinton in Palos Township 49.17% to Clinton's 45.91%.[3]

In the 2020 Presidential Election President Donald Trump defeated Democratic Nominee Joseph R. Biden in Palos Township with 51.48% to Biden's 46.99%.[4]

Organization and leadership[]

The Palos Township Republican Organization is run by the Palos Township Republican Committee and his executive Officer team. The Committeeman is elected at primary elections every four years by the Republican voters of the Township. His executive team consists of a Deputy Committeeman, Executive Director, Secretary and Treasurer. All members of the executive team are appointed by and serve at the pleasure of the Committeeman.
