The Pat Tillman Foundation is a non-profit organization created in 2004 by friends and family[1] of former Arizona Cardinals Safety turned U.S. Army Ranger Pat Tillman, including his widow Marie Tillman, in the aftermath of his fratricide death in Afghanistan. The foundation supports the education and leadership development of veterans and military spouses primarily through its Tillman Scholars program.[2]

As of 2020, nearly 700 Tillman Scholars have been selected.[3] The foundation selects 60 Tillman Scholars per year[4] and awards an average scholarship of $22,000 in support of undergraduate and graduate level education.[5]
