Peter O'Leary was a Gaelic football goalkeeper from County Kerry. He played with the Kerry senior them for 10 years mainly in the National League but also played 6 Championship games. He was part of the Kerry team that were shocked by Clare in the 1992 Munster Football final. He won 1 All Ireland Senior medals as a sub in 2000. He had been a substitute in the 1997 triumph also, but did not receive a medal. He also won a National League medal as a sub in 1997. He had much success at under age level with Kerry winning an All Ireland minor medal in 1988 and an Under 21 medal in 1990.[citation needed]

He played his club football with the Killarney Legion club and had great[clarification needed] success. During his playing days Legion became one of the top clubs in Kerry winning a County League Div 1 title in 1993 and a club championship title in 1994 with O'Leary part of the team. In 2005 he helped his team win the for the first time.[citation needed]
