Pierre Lamothe (born 18 September 1997) is a Canadian professional soccer player who plays as a midfielder for HFX Wanderers.

Early life[]

Lamothe was born in Greenfield Park, which later became a part of the city of Longueuil, Quebec.[1] He played youth soccer with local club CS Longueuil before joining the Montreal Impact Academy in 2011 as part of its first generation of players.[1]

Club career[]

Montreal Impact[]

After several years with the academy, Lamothe signed his first professional contract with the Impact's reserve side, FC Montreal, on 9 July 2016.[1] He made his debut in the USL on 3 August 2016 against FC Cincinnati.[2] Lamothe went on to make a total of four appearances that season.[3]

Longueuil[]

In 2017, Lamothe returned to his youth club, CS Longueuil, where he played for the senior side in the PLSQ, making ten appearances that season and eventually being named team captain.[4][5] In 2018, he made another eleven appearances for Longueuil.[4] That fall, he began attending Université de Montréal, where he played for the varsity team and won the national championship that year.[6] The following year, he made nine appearances for Longueuil and finished runner-up in the national varsity finals with the Carabins.[4][6]

Blainville[]

In 2020, Lamothe played with PLSQ champions Blainville during the league's shortened season, making one appearance.[4]

HFX Wanderers[]

On 27 January 2021, Lamothe returned to professional soccer, signing a one-year contract with an option for 2022 with Canadian Premier League side HFX Wanderers.[6]

International career[]

In September 2015, Lamothe participated in a development camp for the Canadian U20 team led by Rob Gale.[7]
