Lehman 1952[1]

Piveteauia is an extinct genus of prehistoric coelacanth fish which lived during the Lower Triassic period.[1] The genus is named for twentieth century French vertebrate paleontologist Jean Piveteau.[citation needed] The type specimen was discovered in the in northwestern Madagascar by French paleoichthyologist .[1]
