Polish Radio London

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Polish Radio London (also known as PRL 24) is a radio channel designed for Polish audience in the United Kingdom and Ireland.

PRL 24 was launched on 13 December 2006. It is available on DAB in the London area only and over the internet. The transmission on digital satellite has now ceased.

The abbreviation "PRL" refers in a comic way[according to whom?] to the abbreviation of the former official name of the Polish State under communist rule, Polskie Rzeczpospolita Ludowa, translating as the Polish People's Republic).[citation needed]

The radio is partnered with a Polish free weekly print magazine, Cooltura.[citation needed]

Targeting a Polish-speaking audience, the programme time is filled with mixture of Polish and English-language contemporary pop and club music.
