Pooja Devariya is an Indian film and theatre actress who has appeared in the Tamil film industry. After making her film debut with Selvaraghavan's Mayakkam Enna (2011), she worked extensively in theatre with the Stray Factory, before returning to films in 2015.[1] She finished her high school at St. Michael's Academy, in Adyar, Chennai, Tamil Nadu.

Career[]

In 2010, Pooja joined the theatre group Stray Factory and has worked on stage performances and online videos with the company.[2][3] During the production of the theatre show, Dirty Dancing, she was spotted by Gitanjali Selvaraghavan who recommended her to her husband, and the actress appeared in his Mayakkam Enna (2011) portraying Padmini, a friend in Dhanush's gang.[4]

In 2015, she was in production for six films, including roles in Karthik Subbaraj's Iraivi and Manikandan's Kuttrame Thandanai.[5][6]

As a model, she was on the cover of India Today magazine alongside actor Naren Weiss several times.[7] Her directorial debut was also his play Maya from Madurai.
