Poovilangu is a 1984 Indian movie directed by Ameerjan starring Murali and Kuyili.
Plot[]
Set in a college campus, the film explored many of the cliches typical of the genre but newcomer Murali made the experience memorable with his work. Be it romancing Kuyili with Ilaiyaraja's chartbuster Athadi Paavadai Kathada, or going on an emotional roller-coaster, or even beating up his father's evil henchmen, Murali proved that he has what it took to be an actor in mainstream Tamil cinema.

- Kuyili as Saraswathi
- Mohan as Senthil
- Mohanapriya as Priya

Production[]
Poovilangu marked the directorial debut of Ameerjan who earlier assisted K. Balachander.[1] The film marked the acting debuts of Murali, son of Kannada director Siddalingiah (in Tamil) and Kuyili.[2][3] Mohan who went on to become a popular television actor also made his acting debut in the film and his performance in the film earned him the sobriquet "Poovilangu" Mohan.[4]
