"Precious and Few" is a song recorded by American group Climax which became a major North American hit in early 1972. The song was written by the band's guitarist, Walter D. Nims.[1]

Background[]

Lead vocals were provided by Sonny Geraci, who also sang lead on "Time Won't Let Me" with his previous band, The Outsiders. Nims had also been a member of The Outsiders.

"Precious and Few" was released on Carousel Records in 1971. The song featured The Ron Hicklin Singers as backing vocalists, a piano, drums, strings and a horn section.

Chart performance[]

"Precious and Few" spent three weeks at number three on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 and hit number one on the Cash Box Top 100.[2] It also reached number six on Canada's RPM 100.[3]
