Prodo (Russian: Продо) is a russian agro-industrial group, one of the largest participants in the country's agricultural market. Headquarters Moscow.

History[]

Agroholding "Prodo" was founded in 2000 as a meat division of the "Planet Management" company. In 2003, it was transferred to the management of the Millhouse Capital fund managed by Roman Abramovich. The enterprises of the agricultural holding were located in ten regions of Russia.[2]

The main brands are Omsky Bacon, Rococo, Troekurovo, Daria, Dobry Product, Klinsky, Nasha Ryaba, Yasnaya Gorka, Chukchum, Khalif, Luzinskaya Krynochka, National Standard, Dew on the Grass , Umka, Black Boar, Umkk , Bright Morning , Perm Meat Processing Plant.[3]

Six divisions have been created - meat processing, poultry farming, pig breeding, crop production, dairy production, feed. The meat-processing division included the Klinsky meat-packing plant, Omsk bacon, Ufa meat-packing plant, Perm meat-packing plant, Diveevsky meat-packing plant, Tolyatti meat-packing plant,[4] Novosibirsk Meat Processing Plant. The poultry division included: poultry farms "Kaluzhskaya", "Siberian", "Permskaya", "Priazovskaya", "Tyumensky broiler" and "Broiler Don". The pig breeding division included: "Omsk Bacon" and "Bashkir Bacon". And also LLC "Luzinskoe grain", LLC "Luzinskoe milk" and JSC "Luzinsky feed mill". The owner of 100% of all these assets was LLC Prodo, CEO Mr. Andrey Gorodilov.[2]

In 2009, at the claim of Alfa Bank in the amount of 355.8 million rubles, the agricultural holding went through bankruptcy proceedings. However, the holding managed to keep some of its enterprises and continue to work.[5][6]

In 2015, the media reported on the appointment of a new general director of the agricultural holding, which was Ilyukhin Petr Yuryevich, director of Prodo Management LLC.[7][8]

In 2018, the agricultural holding completed the modernization of JSC Prodo Poultry Farm Kaluzhskaya, the total investment in the project amounted to 5 billion rubles. The planned capacity of the enterprise was up to 63 thousand tons of broiler, a new hatchery with a capacity of 51.5 million eggs per year was launched.[9] In the same year, the production of PRODO Tyumensky Broiler was launched, the total investment amounted to 308 million rubles.[10]

In 2019, JSC "Prodo Poultry Farm Kaluzhskaya" achieved 148.11 chickens per year, becoming the owner of a gold certificate.[11] In the same year, the grand opening of a new deep processing workshop for KFC took place, the production potential of the new workshop is up to 1000 tons of chicken products per month.[12] In the same year, Prodo invested 1.5 billion rubles in the modernization of JSC "Omsk Bacon".[13] According to the data for 2019, the company's revenue amounted to 38 billion rubles.[14]
