Promastodonsaurus ("before Mastodonsaurus") is an extinct genus of capitosauroid temnospondyls within the family Mastodonsauridae.[1] Fossils of the genus were found in the Ischigualasto Formation of the Ischigualasto-Villa Unión Basin in northwestern Argentina.[2]
