Protomelas dejunctus, the fire blue hap, is a species of cichlid endemic to Lake Malawi where it is only known from around and in the southern portion of the lake. It is known from depths of from 2 to 10 metres (6.6 to 32.8 ft). This species can reach a length of 13.8 centimetres (5.4 in) SL.[2] Some authorities have revised this taxon's status to that of a subspecies of Protomelas taeniolatus.[1]
