Puerto Rico SWAT

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Puerto Rico Special Weapons and Tactics is the SWAT division of the Puerto Rico Police that intervenes in hostage rescue situations, operations against snipers, search and arrest dangerous fugitives, and support of other police units.[1] The division was formed in 1979 as a reaction to the Munich massacre since Puerto Rico was close to holding the 1979 Pan American Games,[2] and is ascribed to the Puerto Rico Joint Forces of Rapid Action, which is another division within the Puerto Rico Police.
