Pugay is one of 29 barangays or villages in the municipality of San Jose, Camarines Sur in the Philippines.[1]

Geography and Demographics[]

Barangay Pugay is located in the Northern part of the Municipality of San Jose, Camarines Sur. With Barangay ID No. 018, it has a total land area of 240.8000 hectares, Agricultural 191.1542, Residential 23.5947, Grass Land/Pasture 15.1573, institutional 0.763 with a total population of 2,384 or a total of 507 households, 7 zones, total number of male was 1,264, female was 1,125, and total number of families 489.

Agriculture products such as rice, corn and other root crops are the main source of livelihood in the barangay. There is an existing Barangay Hall, Barangay Health Center, Day Care Center, and elementary school. There is also an existing agricultural post-harvest facilities in the area. Mode of transportation is mainly by land. The area is accessible to all air-con van and vice versa.

Barangay Feast Day is on the 27th day of April with Senior San Isidro Labrador as Patron Saint.

Elected barangay officials are as follows: Marciano B. Chavez Jr.- Punong Barangay and the barangay councilors are: Armando P. Climaco, Arnulfo P. Peñaflorida, Eulalia C. Beriña, Elvis P. Panuelos, Nanie E. Penacilla, Gregorio R. Baraga and Jerry T. Climaco.
