Queen: Love and War (Korean간택 - 여인들의 전쟁; Hanja揀擇 - 女人들의 戰爭; RRGantaek - Yuindeuleui Jeonjaeng; lit. Royal Bride Selection: The War Between Women) is a 2019 South Korean television series starring Jin Se-yeon, Kim Min-kyu, Do Sang-woo, Lee Yul-eum, and Lee Si-eon. This series was aired on TV Chosun every Saturday and Sunday at 22:50 KST from December 14, 2019 to February 9, 2020.[1]

Synopsis[]

Kang Eun-gi (Jin Se-yeon) becomes the Queen of Joseon. On their Wedding Day Parade, Eun-gi and Lee Kyung (Kim Min-kyu) are ambushed and shot by assassins which results in their death. However, later in the night due to some unknown reason the dead king resurrects while Kang Eun-gi's twin sister, Kang Eun-bo is acting as an assistant to the Chief Priestess. While the members of the Palace are still shocked to hear about resurrection of the king, meanwhile, The left state minister, Jo Heung-gyeon (Lee Jae-yong) embarks in a search for the new king and the exiled Prince Lee Jae-hwa (Do Sang-woo). Upon arrival, they are both shocked to know that the king is still alive. After which, the father of the dead queen, Kang Yi-soo (Lee Ki-young) due to the politics in the palace is accused of treason for writing the Theory of Enlightenment and sentenced to death by hanging. His friend, Baek Ja-yong (Um Hyo-sup) notices Kang Eun-bo and later reveals Eun-bo's true identity which she has been searching for her whole life. When she finally knows who she is, she longs to see her family. However, it is too late for her to see her father as he was already in the execution platform. Before he was hanged, Kang Yi -soo notices that his daughter Eun-bo was well and alive. After which, Eun-bo find the corpse of her twin sister in a grave pit for traitors. Upon the death of her twin sister, the Palace is looking again for a new queen for Lee Kyung. With anger and determination to find the mastermind behind the murder of her twin sister, Eun-bo participates in the selection under the name Hong-yeon, daughter of Gyeong-gi Governor Hong Ki-ho. On the other hand, after his resurrection, Lee Kyung started to have precognition due to which he is able to predict what may happen to Eun-bo in the near future. What does the palace hold for Eun-bo? Will she be able to win the selection and capture the assassins?
