Río Cauto is a municipality and town in the Granma Province of Cuba. It is located in the northern part of the province, upstream of the mouth of Cauto River.

In 2004, the municipality of Río Cauto had a population of 47,833.[2] With a total area of 1,500 km2 (580 sq mi),[1] it has a population density of 31.9/km2 (83/sq mi).
