Rachel Brathen

Rachel Brathen (Swedish: Rachel Bråthén,[1][2][3] IPA: [ˈrɑ̌ːkɛl brɔˈteːn]) is a teacher of yoga[4] and the author of the book Yoga Girl,[5] which became a New York Times best-seller.[6] "Yoga Girl" is also the name of Brathen's Instagram account.[7] Brathen founded a yoga studio called Island Yoga Aruba[8] as well as the yoga video service oneOeight[9] and the non-profit 109 World.[10] In 2017, Forbes named Brathen to its list of the most important social media influencers in the fitness category, noting that Brathen can command a $25,000 fee per Instagram post.[11] Brathen is a certified Yoga influencer, with an influencer score of 98 from the from influencer marketing software Klear. Brathen also launched a podcast in March 2017,[12] which reached the iTunes charts.[11]

Born in Sweden on the 5th of October 1988, Brathen moved to Costa Rica to pursue yoga[13] and now lives in Aruba.[14] She speaks four languages, Swedish, English, Spanish and Papiamento (spoken on Aruba).[15] Brathen is married[16] and has a daughter.[17]
