"Radio" is a song by British pop singer Robbie Williams. It was the first single from his hits compilation Greatest Hits, released in 2004. Williams wrote the song's distinctive synth-pop melody by attempting (and failing) to play Harold Faltermeyer's "Axel F" on an electronic keyboard, from memory. "Radio" is Williams's first solo outing without the involvement of long-time producer and co-writer Guy Chambers, and is particularly notable as Williams's last UK number-one for eight years, until 2012's "Candy".

Chart performance[]

"Radio" became Williams' sixth number one single in the UK Singles Chart, selling 41,734 in its first week.[2] To date the song has sold 100,000 copies in the UK.[3] The song also topped the charts in Portugal and Denmark and reached the top ten across Europe and Latin America. In Australia, the single charted at number twelve and after seven weeks on the charts, the single was certified Gold.[4]

The song was Williams's last UK number-one for eight years until "Candy" took the top spot in November 2012.
