Rafał Zaborowski (born 1 March 1994) is a Polish professional footballer who plays as a Attacking midfielder for Liga II club Pandurii Târgu Jiu.[1] In his career, Zaborowski also played for teams such as Ruch Radzionków, Viitorul Târgu Jiu or Irodotos, among others.[2]

Playing career[]

Zaborowski was born in Chorzów. At the age of six he started playing for – a club known for developing young players.

Ruch Radzionków[]

In summer 2013, Zaborowski signed a two-year professional contract with Polish I liga side Ruch Radzionków.

LZS Piotrówka[]

In August 2015, after financial problems in Ruch Radzionkow, Zaborowski decide go loan to higher division side LZS Piotrówka.

JKS 1909 Jarosław[]

After leaving Piotrówka in winter 2016,[3] Zaborowski signed with fighting for promotion to I liga club Jarosław in March. Despite an unsuccessful fight for promotion, he managed to win the Polish Cup with his Team.[4]

Harstad IL[]

In March 2017,[5] Zaborowski signed[6] a two-year contract with 2. divisjon side Harstad.[7] It was his first abroad contract.[8]

Irodotos FC[]

In early January 2019,[9] after good performance in Norway,[10] Zaborowski make step forward and decided to sign with Greek Super League 2 side Irodotos.[11] He couldn't made his debut in the first game after the transfer,[12] due to problems with get on time his certificate after the transfer from Norway.[13] Zaborowski made his debut on 28 January 2019, straight after come became starter of Irodotos. Unfortunately in debut his Team lost 0–1 against Panachaiki. Over month later, on 10 March, Zaborowski scored the decisive goal in a 2–1 win against big rival in the Crete derby Chania.[14] After this game, which was very important for the fans, he was chosen by them as the best player. During the time. his name became more and more recognizable and it caught the attention of the other Clubs. Unfortunately, due to the reorganization of the League in Greece after the 2019/20 season, his team was relegated, despite the proposal to extend the contract and stay for the next season, due to personal ambition and the will to develop, he couldn't afford to stay there.

ACS Viitorul Târgu Jiu[]

After a personally successful season in Greece. Zaborowski despite offers in Greece, Lithuania and Cyprus[15] decide go to Romania and signed with Liga II side Viitorul Târgu Jiu despite talks and a meeting with Club Owner of the Greek Super League 2, however he decided to don't sign, because of some a slight shortcoming matters. Therefore, he joined his new team quite late, and the season in Romania started earlier than in Greece, they had already played 5 games and on 5 September 2019 he became player of them.

Partizán Bardejov[]

After few months and injury in Romanian side Viitorul, Zaborowski because of private problems decide come closer family home and signed with 2. liga Partizán Bardejov on 21 February 2020. Due to the league breakdown due to a lockdown in Slovakia. Zaborowski played only in 1 game in which he made an assist and was chosen as the best player of his Team, but after that Federation decided to cancel the season.[16]

CS Pandurii Târgu Jiu[]

Due to offers from Slovakia, Greece and Cyprus in summer 2020,[17] Zaborowski decide back to Romania Liga II and signed a one-year contract with a well-known in Europe Club Pandurii Târgu Jiu, which played past in European Competition UEFA Europa League.[18] His good performances didn't escape the attention of other clubs not only in Romania. His skills aroused the interest also of Southeast Asian clubs from Indonesian Liga 1 Persiraja Banda Aceh[19] and Persik Kediri.
