Ram Shah was Nagvanshi king in 17th century. His capital was at Navratangarh. He succeed Raghunath Shah and ruled from 1690 to 1715 CE.[1] [2]

According to a sanskrit inscription on the wall of Kapilnath temple in Navratangarh, the temple was constructed in Samvat 1767 (1710 CE) during reign of Ram Shah.

During his reign, the king named "Nageswar" invaded the region. During his reign, the king named "Nageswar" invaded the region. He fought several battles against king of Rewa and pact was established in the end. His son, Ani Nath Shahdeo, married the daughter of the king of Rewa. During his reign, king of Singhbhum Jagannath stopped paying dola to Nagvanshi kings. Ram shah fought battle with King Jagannath and around 2200 people died in battle. In the end Jagannath made a pact with Ram Shah.

During reign of Ram Shah some part of Nagvanshi territories were included in the territory of Orissa province. The revenue of this portion was paid to royal treasury through the Mughal revenue officer of Orissa. In 1692, the Raja Raghunath Shah paid total Rs. 9,705 to the Mughal. He ruled until his death in 1706. He succeeded by his son Yadunath Shah[3]
