The following is a list of recurring Saturday Night Live characters and sketches introduced during the forty-first season of SNL, which began on October 3, 2015.

Young girl interrupting porn shoots[]

The shooting of a porn movie is regularly interrupted by a young girl (Aidy Bryant), seemingly unaware of the fictional aspect of the scene she has stumbled into.

43 November 18, 2017 Chance the Rapper She interrupts the shooting of Skank Babysitter 17 (with Heidi Gardner and Chance playing the actors). This sketch was originally written for the Season 42 episode hosted by Dave Chappelle, with Cecily Strong in Gardner's part.

Citizens forum[]

An array of eccentric people monopolize the podium during the citizens' forum of Bakersfield, California, to the dismay of two helpless councilors (Bobby Moynihan and Cecily Strong). The sketch was rebooted in season 47, this time taking place in a variety of situations such as a school board meeting and a tenant meeting.

Also features Aidy Bryant as disgruntled, middle-aged spinster Jan Krang and Kenan Thompson as costume store owner Gary Loomis. Kyle Mooney plays Dutch rapper MC Strategy in the season 41 sketches. In the season 47 sketches, he and Andrew Dismukes play two students who imply they have been doing something against the rules, and give the moderators a one-word insult after they are told they cannot keep doing it.

41 January 23, 2016 Ronda Rousey Rousey plays Mary Bonham, who runs a traveling carnival and freak show. Also features Kate McKinnon as Mrs. Dodd, Pete Davidson as a young man who lost a drone, and Leslie Jones as a woman who leaves the meeting early.
47 October 2, 2021 Owen Wilson A school board meeting on COVID-19 safety policy. Alex Moffat and Ego Nwodim play the board members. Wilson plays Mr. Dodd, a middle school earth science teacher confused about the social distancing protocol. Also features Heidi Gardner as a woman concerned about critical race theory and Pete Davidson as Dog the Bounty Hunter. Kyle Mooney and Andrew Dismukes's characters are high school juniors in this sketch.
47 January 30, 2022 Willem Dafoe A tenant meeting at a New York City apartment building. Alex Moffat and Chloe Fineman play the landlords. Dafoe plays a bohemian who has been living in the building since 1971, and misses the old underground scene in New York. Also features Aristotle Athari as Milos, an Eastern European immigrant who attempts to communicate via Google Translate, Chris Redd as Robert, the building's doorman who is often mistakenly called "J'Marcus", Kenan Thompson as Mr. Carson, a man who gets noise complaints from sexual intercourse, and Kate McKinnon as Mrs. Bowman, an elderly woman who petitions for the limit on cats per unit to be raised to 75. Kyle Mooney and Andrew Dismukes's characters are students at New York University.

Colleen Rafferty[]

Three people are being interrogated about a paranormal encounter or phenomenon they experienced. But Colleen Rafferty's (Kate McKinnon) recollection of the events vastly differs from the other two (played by Cecily Strong and the host), and is filled with unsavory details.

Deenie (Kate McKinnon) inaccurately recaps her favorite soap-operas on Weekend Update while eating from a plastic container.

An Undercover Boss parody where Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) goes undercover as a low level employee to interact with his subordinates.

America's Funniest Pets[]

The presenter of an animal-based video clip show invites the two presenters of a French similar series, Joelle LaRue and Noelle LeSoup (Cecily Strong, Kate McKinnon). He asks them to cohost the show and provide silly voiceovers for the clips. But said voiceovers turn out to be more depressing than their American counterpart.

Another sketch, America's Funniest Dogs, was cut for time from the Peter Dinklage-hosted episode in Season 41.[2]

True Tales From The Sea[]

Adventurers down on their luck are rescued by a group of mostly beautiful mermaids, but that includes Shud (Kate McKinnon), a part-woman, part-blobfish mermaid who doesn't exactly enchant the men she's trying to seduce.

Chad[]

Pete Davidson plays Chad, an apathetic, easily distracted youth with limited conversational skills whose catchphrase is "okay". He's the heartbreaker of several people decades older than him, but he couldn't care less about their grand declarations of love. In one instance, he is the obsession of a psychopathic serial killer, but Chad takes no notice of the killer's attempts to torment him.

45 December 7, 2019 Jennifer Lopez Chad is the roadie for Lopez. Alex Rodriguez appears as himself.
45 February 8, 2020 RuPaul Ru trains Chad to be the next generation of drag.
46 October 24, 2020 Adele Chad stumbles onto a mansion haunted by the ghost of a murdered woman (Adele).
46 May 8, 2021 Elon Musk Chad canonically dies when he partially removes his helmet on a Mars mission.

Suburban mothers[]

A group of suburban mothers engage in cult-like behavior in trying to convert a newer, inexperienced mother into doing something that would prove them of their motherhood.
