The Relict Lime Grove is a linden grove in Ubinsky District of Novosibirsk Oblast, Russia. The grove has existed since preglacial times.
It is the only place of natural growth of linden in Novosibirsk Oblast.
History[]
The Relict Lime Grove was discovered in 1928 by A. M. Zharkova, a member of the Russian Geographical Society.
Description[]
The grove is several million years old. It is located in the Senchinskoye Swamp northeast of Lake Ubinskoye.
The area of the grove is 550 square meters. At the beginning of the 21st century, the grove consisted of approximately 40 lindens. The largest trees have a height of 15–18 meters with a trunk diameter of 19–29 cm.
