Rene Alperstein (born 30 June 1964 in Watford) is an English former actress, best known for the part of Pamela Cartwright in Grange Hill (BBC 1981-1982).
She studied tap, ballet, and jazz dance as a student at the Italia Conti Stage School. After leaving Grange Hill, she spent some time in theatre, and toured alongside Derek Nimmo in There's a Girl in My Soup. She also had television parts in Alas Smith and Jones (BBC), Who Dares Wins (Channel 4) as well as numerous TV commercials.
She features in the music video for the number one hit Don’t Stand So Close To Me by British rock group The Police.
She retired from acting, and is now a medical recruitment consultant.
