Rhasidat Adeleke ( (/rəˈʃdə/;[1] born 29 August 2002) is an Irish sprinter.[2][3]

Career[]

She won a silver medal in the 4 x 100m relay with Molly Scott, Gina Akpe-Moses, Ciara Neville and Patience Jumbo-Gula at the 2018 IAAF World U20 Championships in Tampere, Finland[4][5] and a gold in the 200m at the 2018 European Athletics U18 Championships in Győr, Hungary.[2][6] In 2021 she became senior national champion followed by winning the 100m-200m sprint double at the European Athletics U20 Championships in Tallinn, Estonia.[7][8][9][10]

Background[]

Adeleke was born in Dublin in 2002 to Nigerian parents Ade and Prince Adeleke. [5] She won a junior sprint double at the Irish Schools championships for Presentation College, Terenure.[5][11] She is a member of Tallaght Athletic Club.[11][5][12]
