Rhysodes is a genus of ground beetle native to the Palearctic (including Europe) and the Near East. Sometimes placed in subfamily Trechinae, its relationships are actually not well known. Even its assignment to the ground beetles is provisional, and the Rhysodini tribe or Rhysodinae subfamily is sometimes considered a full-fledged family alongside the ground beetles.
