Richard Odada (born 25 November 2000) is a Kenyan professional footballer who currently plays as a defensive midfielder for Metalac, on loan from Red Star Belgrade. As of July 2021 he is also a citizen of Serbia.[1]
Club career[]
Early years[]
Odada made his debut with the biggest team, Leopards and thanks to his excellent midfielder performances, he came to wear the jersey of the national Under 20 team.[2]
Odada, who was part of the Kenya U20 team that featured in the African Championship qualifiers in 2017, enjoyed stints in Serbia and Switzerland before trialing with Juventus.[3]
Grafičar Beograd[]
On January 30, 2019, Odada joined the Red Star U19 team. After a successful and good year, he was sent to the main team, and then on loan to Grafičar Beograd. He made his debut in the 3-0 victory against Radnički from Pirot, where he played all 90 minutes. In the 2019/20 season, he played 7 matches for Grafičar, and he also recorded one assist in the 5-0 victory against Sinđelić. In the 2020/21 season, he played 13 matches in the league, where he again recorded an assist against Radnički from Pirot and he also played one game in the cup against Voždovac.
International career[]
He made his debut for the Kenya national football team on 2 September 2021 in a World Cup qualifier against Uganda. He started and played the full match in a 0–0 home draw.[4]
