Rick Scott Christophel (born October 27, 1952) is an American football coach and former player. He is currently the tight ends coach for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers of the National Football League (NFL), a position he has held since January 2019. He previously served as head football coach at Austin Peay State University from 2007 to 2012, compiling a record of 20–46.

NFL Coaching[]

Arizona Cardinals[]

Christophel worked with the Arizona Cardinals[1] from 2013-2017, serving as the team's tight ends coach. In 2017, Christophel helped develop rookie free agent Ricky Seals-Jones a college wide receiver who he helped convert into a tight end. He briefly retired after that year.[2]

Tampa Bay Buccaneers[]

In 2019 Christophel would once again coach under Bruce Arians[3] this time however it would be with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.[2]
