Influences[]

Carey cites as his main influences the many music styles of the Caribbean, including elements of Soca, Dancehall, R&B, and HipHop, often blended with a native sound from The Bahamas called "Junkanoo" and "." He also has a great love of music from the 1970s and 1980s, as it was music he grew up on; as a child, his family would often play old records and practice for their band gigs (High Voltage, Sweet Exorcist, Snap Shot). Close friends and family members have also had a great influence in his life, including his wife Sheki, his father Pat Carey (guitarist), his little brother Sketch (producer and R&B/ Pop recording artist), the Baha Men (Grammy Award-winning band), and many Bahamian musicians, producers and artists.
