The Riviera International Film Festival (RIFF)[1] is an international film festival dedicated to filmmakers under 35 that takes place every year in Sestri Levante. Since the 2018 edition, there is a section entirely dedicated to documentaries[2].

RIFF is a film festival born in 2017 from the passion for cinema and Liguria of Los Angeles-based producer Stefano Gallini-Durante.,[1] founder and president of the event, and executive director and co-founder Vito D'Onghia. In the 2018 edition, the Riviera International Film Festival expanded to Portofino, with the aim of reaching other cities of the Ligurian Riviera in the next editions[3]. The Riviera International Film Festival aims to bring to the Riviera Ligure di Levante an international film festival characterized by an innovative format, which combines the growing demand for training on film techniques, along with the opportunity to give a qualified space to young directors under 35 of independent cinema.

The RIFF combines film and documentary screenings with panels, conferences, meetings, workshops and masterclasses by world-class professionals.[2][3][4][5]

The components of that documentary were the New Zealand climatologist Nigel Tapper (president of the jury and member of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, Nobel Peace Prize in 2007 together with Al Gore), the Chilean actress Cote de Pablo and the Italian entrepreneur Gaia Trussardi.
