Rob Malone

Robbie "Rob" Malone is an Irish bass player for English musician David Gray.[1]

Biography[]

Robbie Malone is a bass player who’s been working in the music scene since the late 1980s. Malone hails from the Dublin suburb of Donaghmede and previously played bass for Hothouse Flowers,[2] The Corrs, Jamie Lawson, Vyvienne Long, Hinterland, Damien Dempsey, Mary Coughlan, Juliet Turner, The Pale, Gemma Hayes, Bronagh Gallagher and The Sofas to name but a few.[3] He is probably best known for his bass playing with David Gray. Malone’s career has spanned over three decades and is still going strong. Along with playing multiple instruments with Gray, he has co-written a number of songs and co-produced on recent David Gray albums which have reached the US Billboard top ten and sold in their millions.
