Robert Hampshire is an American academic and engineer who is the nominee to serve as assistant secretary of transportation for research and technology.[1]

Education[]

Hampshire earned a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from the University of Cincinnati and a Doctor of Philosophy in operations research and financial engineering from Princeton University.[citation needed]

Career[]

Hampshire worked as an associate professor at the University of Michigan.[2][3] Hampshire assumed office as deputy assistant secretary of transportation for research and technology on January 20, 2021.[4] On April 22, 2022 he was nominated to assistant secretary of transportation for research and Technology.[5]
