Roger C. Chamberlain (born January 14, 1963) is a Minnesota politician and member of the Minnesota Senate. A member of the Republican Party of Minnesota, he represents District 38, which includes portions of Anoka, Ramsey, and Washington counties in the northeastern Twin Cities metropolitan area. He is a financial advisor for Thrivent Financial.[1]

Early life, education, and career[]

Chamberlain attended Normandale Community College in Bloomington, receiving his A.A.S. in law enforcement. He later earned his B.S. in accounting from Metropolitan State University in Saint Paul. He also served in the United States Navy and in the United States Army National Guard.[1][2]

Minnesota Senate[]

Chamberlain was first elected in 2010 and reelected in 2012, 2016, and 2020.[3]

Political positions[]

Abortion[]

Chamberlain opposes abortion. In 2016, Minnesota Citizens Concerned for Life gave Chamberlain a 100% voting record.[4]

Controversies[]

Social media[]

In 2020, Chamberlain drew criticism for following and interacting with Bronze Age Pervert on Twitter, as well as liking tweets about the book Bronze Age Mindset. The book "argues that equality and human rights are unnatural; that most people form a vast, inferior class who will only find ‘solace and meaning’ through ‘submission’—and that the proper rulers of the world are white men."[5][6]

In 2021, Chamberlain drew criticism for liking a tweet by radio host and conspiracy theorist Paul Joseph Watson reading "Retweet if you're pureblood." The Minnesota Reformer wrote, "It’s not clear whether Chamberlain liked the post because he’s into pure bloodlines, or because he’s an anti-vaxxer".[7]
