Rohit Raut

Rohit Shyam Raut (born 18 November 1995) is an Indian singer and music director, who primarily works in the Marathi film industry.[1] He appeared in the Indian singing reality show Indian Idol 11 and was the first runner-up of the show.[2][3]

Personal life[]

Rohit Shyam Raut was born on 18 November 1995. He comes from Latur city, where he started his journey of singing. He completed his secondary education at Shri Deshikendra School. Raut lives with his father Shyam Raut who works as cultural head of the Nationalist Congress Party, Latur District, and younger brother Yugal Raut, who owns a sales business. Raut is engaged to his long time girlfriend Juilee Joglekar, who is also a singer.[4]

Career[]

Earlier in his life, Raut started participating in district, state, and national level music competitions. He was selected at Sa Re Ga Ma Pa L'il Champs Marathi on Zee Marathi and started to gain popularity from the show.[5] He was one of the finalists of the show and was known as "Future Music Director". He made his debut from the song Yaara Yaara in Duniyadari. After that, he appeared in many Marathi films including Triple Seat, Muramba, and Ti Saddhya Kay Karte.

He has also sung most of the title tracks and songs of TV Shows such as Ka Re Durava, Sang Tu Aahes Ka, Majha Hoshil Na, Pasant Aahe Mulgi, and Dil Dosti Duniyadari.[6][7] Raut participated and gained popularity from his appearance on Indian Idol Season 11, where he was the 1st runner-up of the show.

He made his debut as a music director with the 2019 Marathi film Mogra Phulaalaa. He received a nomination in the best playback singer category at the Filmfare Awards Marathi 2020 for the song Manmohini from the same film. Raut is coming as Music Composer by Marathi movie OMG (Oh My Ghost).

Rohit received the Maharashtra State Film Awards in the Year 2014 in the best playback singer category for the song Sehar from Candle March. He also bagged the Film Song of the Year award for Hrudayat Vaje Something and Film Album Of the Year along with the music team of Ti Saddhya Kay Karte at the Mirchi Music Awards Marathi 2017.

He is one of the judges/mentors of the third season of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa L'il Champs Marathi alongside Aarya Ambekar, Prathamesh Laghate, Mugdha Vaishampayan and Kartiki Gaikwad. Mrunmayee Deshpande is the host of the show.
