Ross Welford is an English children's science-fiction/fantasy author.

Biography[]

Welford was born in Cullercoats, England. He attended Leeds University before moving to London. He became a magazine journalist and later a television producer.[1]

Career[]

His debut novel, Time Travelling With A Hamster, was published in 2016 and was shortlisted for the Costa,[2] Blue Peter,[3] Waterstones,[4] and Branford Boase Awards.[5]

It was followed by five other novels between 2017 and 2021.

Cullercoats appears as 'Culvercot' in Welford's books.

Welford was admitted into The Magic Circle in 2019.[6]
